MINI CHARGING STATION
A Growing Network of Charging Points across Thailand.
With the help of its partners across Thailand, MINI Charging Station has made it easy for you to charge your MINI electric cars in public, especially at luxury hotels and high-end shopping centers. This network of charging stations will keep expanding as the e-mobility technology continues to advance.
How to charge your electrified MINI in public.
1. Download a charging application and complete the registration process. Now, you can see all the charging stations are available to you.
2. Complete the setup process as prompted on your MINI’s display to prepare it for charging. The accepted input ranges from 16A to 32A*. Choosing an appropriate amperage will reduce charging time. Your choice is subject to the maximum limit of each model.
3. Switch off your MINI before plugging in the charger. MINI supports two types of currents: AC and DC (full-electric vehicles only).
4. Confirm your charging detail on your preferred app to authorize payment and initiate charging.
5. If the blue light flashes, charging is in progress. There are two ways you can see charging times and battery levels:
• on your MINI’s display; and
• on the MINI App.
6. Once your MINI is all charged up, unlock it to disconnect the charger. You cannot remove the charger without unlocking your car. This is a security feature to prevent unauthorized removal of the charger.
*To see your car’s maximum input limit, use the display. Go to Charging Settings > Current Limit. Select your preferred limit.
How to charge your car at home through MINI Wallbox.
1. Set the input current to anywhere between 16A–32A. To do this, go to Charging on your MINI’s display. Your choice is subject to the maximum limit of each model.
2. Switch off your car and plug the MINI Wallbox in.
3. If the blue light flashes, charging is in progress. There are two ways you can see charging times and battery levels:
• on your MINI’s display; and
• on the MINI App.
4. Once your MINI is all charged up, unlock it to disconnect the charger. You cannot remove the charger without unlocking your car. This is a security feature to prevent unauthorized removal of the charger.
5. To charge at specific hours, select the start and stop times on your display from “Time Slot”. This feature lets you keep your car plugged in and charge during off-peak hours when electricity is at its cheapest.
Caution In an emergency, where a secondary charging cable is used (either a Mode 2 Cable or Flexible Fast Charger) with your home’s electrical outlet, choose the low 6A current for your own safety. Do not use this method regularly. Your home’s electrical system may not meet the standards required for vehicle charging. Most importantly, do not use an extension cord or an adaptor under any circumstance.
*To see your car’s maximum input limit, use the display. Go to Charging Settings > Current Limit. Select your preferred limit.

What is the difference between AC and DC charging at a charging station?
-
What is the appropriate battery level for a MINI electric car?
- For optimal performance, your MINI’s battery level should be anywhere between 20–-80%. Of course, your vehicle will still operate if the battery level is higher or lower, but 20—80% is considered the optimal range that will extend the lifespan of your MINI’s batteries. You can set up the charging target at 80% right from your car and let the system do the rest.
- Your battery charging target of 80% is meant for your daily commutes. Should you need to travel farther occasionally, you may wish to increase the percentage.
-
How do I check the charging status of my MINI electric car ?
- The MINI App* on your smartphone.
- The display inside your electric car.
-
If my car isn’t charging, what preliminary steps should I take?
- Verify whether your car is locked. Charging only begins when your MINI is locked.
- Check whether the charging cable is plugged into your car tightly. Do the same with the charger end.
- Make sure that your payment and charging have been authorized on the app.
- Verify whether the charger is in order and undamaged. The manual and terms of use are available on the charger’s side and on the service provider’s website.

Direct Current (DC).
-
Alternating Current (AC).
-
Kilowatt (kW) and Amp (A)
- Kilowatt (kW) is the unit of measurement of the electrical power each appliance needs to operate.
- Amp (A) is the unit of measurement of the electrical current that flows through a conductor or an appliance. For instance, a 5A device can handle 5 amperes of electricity flowing through it.
CAUTION.
- Inspect the general condition of all charging equipment (charging port, charging cable, charging station, and outlet) and the wear and tear. For example, a dirty, loose, or damaged charging surface may cause overheating and become a fire hazard.
- Do not charge your vehicle near a flammable substance, including while refueling.
- If you are using the standard charging cable, always plug it in directly to your wall socket. Do not use an extension cord or an adapter.
- Do not charge your car while it’s wet. For example, don’t charge it outdoors while it’s raining or while it’s being washed.
- Choosing a current limit that is too high may damage your home’s or charging point’s electrical system. If you are not confident in the supporting structure of the charging point, we recommend selecting the lowest amperage.
- Electric cars should be recharged regularly to maintain the life expectancy of their batteries, especially if they are used for short daily commutes or if they have remained stationary for more than one month.
- We do not recommend leaving your electric car stationary for more than three months at a battery level of less than 50%. If you need to leave your vehicle parked long-term, we recommend charging it up to full battery both before parking and before use.
- Always inspect the condition of every piece of equipment for your own safety.
